
Evelin Garza Rodriguez is a junior at Jimmy Carter Early College High School and part of the conjunto program at Palmview High School. Her dedication to both academics and the arts is evident.
Rodriguez’s journey with the accordion began at the age of four. Over the years, her performances have graced venues such as Payne Arena, Valley View High School, and the Convention Center, highlighting her growth and passion for music.
“I enjoy playing the accordion because it helps me clear my mind from stress,” Rodriguez said, reflecting on what the instrument means to her.
Balancing dual enrollment classes and her extracurricular commitment at Palmview High School is no small achievement. Rodriguez attributes her success to careful time management, ensuring she devotes adequate time to practicing her craft.
“Both of my parents inspired me to play the accordion. They always motivated me to become better at it,” she shared, crediting her family as a driving force behind her musical journey.
