Jimmy Carter Early College High School earned an impressive second-place sweepstakes finish at the UIL Academics District 32-4A Meet held at Valley View ECHS in March 2025. The RedWolves had multiple standout performances, with over a dozen students advancing to regionals across various events.

Leading the charge was Angel Treviño, who placed in both Copy Editing and Headline Writing. The Journalism team, coached by Mr. Ivan Silva and Mr. Luis Alaniz, claimed 1st Place Team honors, with six individual students qualifying for regionals. In literary events, Angel Vela dominated with a 1st place finish in Literary Criticism and a 3rd place finish in Ready Writing.

In speech, Lizbeth Martinez (Informative Speaking) and Kimberly Valdez (Lincoln-Douglas Debate) earned regional spots under coaches Ms. Camarillo and Ms. Garza. The school also celebrated team wins in Literary Criticism (1st), Speech (2nd), and solid placements in Spelling, Science, Social Studies, Number Sense, and Computer Science.

These achievements reflect the academic strength and dedication of JCECHS students and coaches as they now prepare for the next round of UIL competition at regionals.
