The Senior Sunrise was observed by the class of 2023 on Thursday, October 13. Senior Sunrise marks the beginning of the end of the seniors’ high school journey.

Senior Sunrise, an annual event, is held at the front of the school and is centered around breakfast as a class and forming their last memories with the sunrise as their backdrop.

Ruby Hernandez, senior class president, said that she helped plan the event and felt that even though there are different friend groups amongst the class, they all seemed happy to be there together.

“It signified a lot of unity to me and it was such a candid, fun moment,” Hernadez said.

Dominique Brown, a senior who attended, said that she was really excited about the Senior Sunrise as she really wanted to have a memorable moment with her friends before they all graduate and have to go their separate ways.

“After having the sunrise, something about that day was just so magical,” Brown said.

Brown thought that having the Senior Sunrise was important because the class was able to celebrate as one as they had finally made it to the beginning of their senior year.

Behind-the-scenes of One Act Play Auditions

The Future Business Leaders of America club will hosted a conference this Oct 15.
This year’s elected area Texas FBLA state officer, Carolina Amador, now has the responsibility of hosting the conference, which is something she has known about since March 2022.
“I’ve just kind of been trying to be ahead and plan ahead over the summer,” Amador said. “Now that it’s this coming weekend, it’s kinda a little nerve-racking but also very exciting.”
Since she is the school’s first FBLA state officer, Amador said she feels nervous but prepared for this upcoming Saturday.
“I’m kinda afraid that some people won’t find it thrilling when it’s not supposed to be fun. It’s supposed to be a time where FBLA members can come and, you know, learn about the business world and other aspects that they might not even know about,” Amador said.
