The Centex Invitational Meet allowed students to demonstrate their skills in a competitive environment, showcasing the strength of Jimmy Carter’s journalism program.
“With over 100 competitors in our division and more than 3,000 students participating statewide, this is a significant accomplishment for our team. It’s a testament to the hard work they put in every day,” coach Ivan Silva said.
The results reflect the students’ commitment to excellence.
“When I saw the results, I was floored. Out of 50 opportunities to place, our team earned 23,” coach Luis Alaniz said. “Whether at invitational meets or UIL district, regional, or state competitions, the team has continued to make a name for itself. Jimmy Carter Early College, this little school on the Texas-Mexico border, is making waves.”
