While many people experiment with fashion trends, Bella Monsivaiz has developed a style that stands out for its individuality and creativity. Known around campus for her bold fashion choices and confident presence, Bella uses clothing as a form of self-expression and empowerment.
Bella said her style reflects who she is and what she believes in.
“I never go a day without choosing an outfit that looks ‘tuff.’”
Her daily routine begins by picking one piece she really wants to wear and then building the rest of her outfit around it.
“It depends on how I’m feeling that day, but I always make sure it represents me,” she added.
While her fashion often attracts positive attention, Bella admitted that not everyone reacts kindly.
“People mostly follow stereotypes based on the way I dress,” she said.
“Some think I’m a bad influence or weird, and I get a lot of stares in public.”
Still, she focuses on the bright side.
“I’ve met so many amazing people who appreciate my style and support me,” she said.
When asked what inspired her look, Bella named Draculaura from Monster High, social media scene influencers, and her friends from local shows.
“I’ve always liked being unique since I was young,” she said. “I don’t like matching the social norms.”
Bella said her style has had a strong impact on her life.
“It surrounds me with more positive people who look up to me as a friend,” she said. “It makes me a better person by being a role model to others.”
Her appearance, she explained, has shaped how she views people and how they treat her.
“I’ve had both negative and positive experiences just based on my appearance,” she added.
Building her wardrobe was a process that took time, patience, and creativity.
“It took about three years,” Bella said. “I thrifted, bought clothes from other people, and even used old pieces my family passed down.”
She also searched through vintage and dead stock stores and sometimes made her own clothing.
“It’s hard to find items in my style since most are vintage or DIY,” she said. “But having friends with similar styles helped me find more places over the years.”
Compliments are one of Bella’s favorite parts of expressing herself through fashion.
“It honestly makes my day,” she said. “I love when people look up to me because of how I dress. It pushes me to better myself and achieve my goals.”
Negative comments don’t affect her as much anymore.
“I don’t take them personally,” she said.
“I know my look isn’t something people usually see, and sometimes it’s even funny how people dislike me just because of how I appear.”
Over time, Bella’s look has evolved and become bolder.
“Last year I didn’t wear much jewelry or accessories,” she said. “Now my makeup is more dramatic, with rhinestones, glitter, and detailed eyeshadow.”
She also mentioned changes such as bleaching her hair nine months ago and getting piercings.
“I definitely stand out more this year,” she said proudly.
When asked what advice she would give to others who want to express themselves through fashion, Bella’s message was simple but powerful.
“Always dress the way YOU want and don’t let others bring you down,” she said. “Your confidence and happiness come first. You shouldn’t water yourself down for people who won’t support you.”
